Find out what hyaluronic acid is!

I guess you've already heard of pure hyaluronic acid as a great friend for our skin, in this article we'll deepen the knowledge better;

What is hyaluronic acid

Hyaluronic acid is a macromolecule that naturally makes up our skin, one of the most important components of connective tissues.

Physiologically, hyaluronic acid is found freely under the surface of the skin and, by stimulating the production of collagen and the regeneration of the connective tissue, it allows to maintain the turgidity, hydration and elasticity of the skin, also because it is able to store a large amount of water.

Over time, approximately after the age of 40, its regeneration becomes slower therefore the dense network of hyaluronic acid of youthful age weakens with the consequent formation of wrinkles and visible blemishes on the skin.

Several studies on the effectiveness of prolonged and constant treatments have shown that hyaluronic acid:

  • with a high molecular weight, it has a strong shielding action and a visible tightening effect, i.e. it blocks the loss of water from the skin surface, ensuring that the skin remains hydrated and smooth, without flaking.

  • medium molecular weight retains water in the superficial layers of the skin, contributing to the maintenance of normal levels of hydration.

  • with low molecular weight it penetrates deeper, nourishing the deepest layers of the skin and giving a real tensor effect.
